Dookietown is a six-track EP recorded during a break in production of the album Dr. Dark. It acknowledges the 2024 United States presidential election and the increasingly pressing question "Where do clowns go when the show is over?"

The EP's concept actually dates back to the 1990s. When the Residents uncovered notes pertaining to it, they quickly recorded the songs as best they could remember them.

Dookietown was released as a 10" vinyl record by Cherry Red Records on November 1st, 2024. In addition, the composer Ego Plum created a special mix, "Duck Sauce Refried," which was put out as a limited objet d'art by Psychofon records in anticipation of the new Residents release.
